Our wooden wicks are made with a double-ply layer of two wood wicks. Both layers are the same width and height and are stuck together using a non-toxic process. They are very easy to use, and the lamination will give you the ultimate performance in a natural wooden wick. Each wick is supplied with a stainless steel tab.
Tab the wicks first, prior to placing in wax. Melt wax and pour it into your container. The amount of crackle will depend on the amount of colour and fragrance that is added to the candle, so remember to make notes with each combination you test. These wooden wicks work perfectly in soy wax, and generally fragrance levels between 6-8% produce the best crackle. Allow wax to start thickening on the bottom of the container, then centre the tabbed wick into the wax. Let the candles set overnight to cure before burning, although we do recommend you allow at least a week for candles to cure before burning to achieve the best scent throw. Also recommended for use with gel wax, vegetable wax and most paraffin wax. Wooden Wicks require trimming after each burn. If you do not trim you are essentially trying to light already burnt wood which does not work well. Trim the burn excess off to around 1/4" after each burn.
