| At Sensory Perfection we take our responsibility in supplying fragrance oils to cosmetic manufacturers exceptionally seriously and constantly monitor the relevant legislation in conjunction with our advisory Cosmetic Chemist. Upon his advice, we do not currently sell imported fragrance oils (from any country) as being suitable for use in cosmetic products for retail purposes. This is not because they are legally prohibited for use in such an application but because countries outside of the EU do not have the identification of the 26 declarable allergens built into their manufacturing process. The MSDS might be completely valid for that country and still not have complete data as required by the Cosmetic Regulations as applicable within the UK and EU. Absence of a declaration of these allergens on the MSDS is NOT a guarantee that they are in fact absent from the oil. A duty of care will ALWAYS fall on you as the cosmetic manufacturer to ensure that the oils you use to fragrance your product are legally compliant and that the original manufacturing process involved in producing any of your ingredients ensures the final MSDS is accurate and includes all information which is required under these regulations. Again, upon the advice of our Cosmetic Chemist, we only extend our certification of compliant manufacturing practice to those oils which we can verify have been created to the regulations applicable to this country and the rest of the EU. As the oils manufactured in other countries will not have been created to those regulations (irrespective of their quality or intended use overseas) we are not legally allowed to certify these oils as being suitable for use in your products for retail purposes. MSDS is not required for candle making so MSDS for these products will not be routinely supplied.
