Biodegradable Cosmetic Glitter Rose Gold 5g (BN 1759)

Beautiful premium grade biodegradable glitter to create a brilliant sparkle and shimmer. You only need a small pinch, a little goes a very long way!  Perfect for use in cosmetic products, home fragrancing, crafts, and candles*. Particle size .008 Standard.  Supplied in a 5g recycleable plastic pot.

Biodegradable glitter is completely unique and uses plant derived material as its basis rather than polyester and is the only glitter available on the market which is now proven to biodegrade into harmless substances in the natural environment.  Traditional polyester film used in traditional glitter has been replaced with a unique and special form of cellulose from hardwoods, primarily eucalyptus, sourced from responsibly managed and certified plantations operating to PEFC™ standards.  

This biodegradable glitter is defined as a finished article and does not require registration under REACH. However, we can confirm that it does not contain any SVHC’s (Substances of Very High Concern) as defined under REACH.  MSDS available on request.

Although non-toxic and non-harmful it is not a foodstuff and therefore not intended for consumption.

It does not dissolve in water.  Microorganisms are needed to digest it and transform it into harmless substances; carbon dioxide, water and biomass.  It is very stable and will not biodegrade on the shelf. Biodegradation will only be initiated in compost, soil, waste-water, fresh water or marine environments where microorganisms are present.

*Note: Glitter works best sprinkled onto candles (or painted on with candle varnish) rather than added to the wax mixture, as it may clog the wick.
